THE SECRET TO DETOX SUCCESS

detox2 - HealthCoaching“Detox” has become a relatively common term these days. Everywhere you turn, you hear about high-profile celebrities doing a “cleanse” or the “Ultimate Detox,” which can last from 1 day, 3 days to 5 days etc. This has been going on for hundreds of years without all the fuss! Can you successfully create your own detox with results?

Firstly our bodies are amazing organs that can both heal itself and work at optimum levels, in turn making you feel healthy, energized, happy and loving the body you are in. The body is so powerful it can eliminate toxins we digest into our bodies. We have an intricate filtering system within ourselves consisting of our liver, kidneys, lymph system & intestines, which eliminates the majority of toxins we consume. Although if we are consuming an overwhelming amount of processed foods, sugar, fizzy drinks, alcohol, air pollution and second-hand smoking. Also the negative circles we find ourselves in between family, friends and work colleagues. This is when the body can become overwhelmed and hits the internal panic button, when your body is out of its comfort zone and is unable to work the way it is programmed dis-ease occurs. When our body is in this state there are too many toxins for it to deal with, the toxins get deposited into our fat cells. Our bodies recognize this as a filing system, which it will get back to later, only we are consuming so many toxins consistently the body is unable to break them down. So all it can do is keep on filing away our bad toxins into our fat cells and our weight issues & health problems start here.

Governments are now really taking notice of the battles against obesity, which like our waistlines are constantly growing!!

The-Secret-by-Rhonda-Byrne

The Big Secret of a Successful Detox!
Have you ever tried a detox or a diet?
How many people did you share this with as you were starting?
Family, Friends, Work Colleagues?
Did you have support or constant distractions of the foods you were trying avoid?

Here is the secret, I shall refer back to the bible and lets swap detoxing and dieting to what they did back then “Fast”. Now remember hundreds of years ago people had simple, organic, nourishing foods, not the amount of man-made chemicals we are producing and consuming today! They may have had temptations during their fasting as we are all human, but they did not have the media in their ears and eyes 24/7. They had friends and family which may have been their distractions, yet they had a method which was their way to fast successfully.

Matthew 6:16-18 “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”

So the bible is telling us that fasting or in our case Detoxing is secret and not for show. As only you will know of past detox and diets which you shared with others, and how successful did they become? Did you reach your goal weight, achieve what you set out to do with full support from your friends and family?

Goal Enriched Rewards
I am sure in everyone’s life they achieved something so important to them, either it was loosing weight, overcoming a fear, getting married, having a baby. All of those amazing moments and more, where you felt so enlightened nothing could top the way you felt.
Benefits of a detox gives you and your body that feeling a new refreshed energy, slows down the aging process and you become happier and content within yourself.

3 Steps to a Detox ~ This is an overview contact me for more information.

3-steps HealthCoaching

Step 1. What is Your Plan?
There is no point in jumping into a program you have read on the internet/ magazine, stating that you can loose X amount of Lbs in X amount of days, if it is your 1st time you are already putting yourself under a subconscious level of stress, even before you start! You need to do some valid research, if this is safe for you to begin with? Do what you feel comfortable with regarding the length of time you feel you can commit on this program as a starter? Gradual but significant changes can create a very effective detox plan.

Step 2. A Reflective View

As we go a little deeper into the detox process, this is the most important part, a little self-reflection. Everyone’s body is their temple, how have you been looking after yours? As I said earlier when our bodies are overloaded with toxins they become “filed away” into our fat cells. So if our fat cells have accumulated, (think of this like hoarding junk), it will take time to clear the junk. Our Detox is a spring clean to our bodies, to help break down the fat cells, and to assist the process we must remove all the toxins from our eating habits. All processed foods, sugar, and all other hidden toxins, (more about that in my next article)

Make a list of all processed foods you eat often and don’t withhold them off your list, as you will be only fooling yourself and being in denial. Then make a list of foods more healthier and natural you can incorporate into your lifestyle. The closer to nature you can take your diet, the better it is for your diet.

Step 3. Support
As I have written, the secret to a successful Detox/diet is keeping it a secret. Although a lot of people need good sound advice and someone to hold them accountable to work and support them towards their goals of success. As I know from previous successful clients of mine, when you start Detoxing it is a big shift to your body and it affects how you are feeling. Some days your motivation will feel great and others the very opposite. Having emotional support in this moment is key for your success, that is why as a Holistic Health Coach I offer you this service, to help and guide you through the rough challenging spots. Pick you up on your low moments and give you support and direction, cheer you on as you become nearer and reach your goals! Without anyone knowing how you are achieving your success.

This can be your secret to Detox/Diet success, and your family and friends will be raging you never told them what you were doing as you are a Standing Reward of Your Work!!

Brain injuries and water

“Drinking the right water, not just any water, is critical for your health and the prevention of disease. This is true, now more than ever, in our acidic 21st century society.” ~ Horst S. Filtzer, MD,
F.A.C.S. Former Chief of surgery ,
Cambridge Hospital,
Harvard Medical School.

Water is what generates life on the planet and when you have the right quality of water in your body you feel different. This I found out over seven years ago. As I said I loved water and all I drank was a certain label of bottled water, no matter where I was in the world I searched for this bottled water as I felt to me it was the best, that was until I drank ionized Alkaline Water. I thought I was Miss Fitness and when I drank this Alkaline Water how wrong was I!!
Little Miss Fitness became Miss unfit my body went through a huge detox and my body was flushing out all nasty stored up toxins, and over a period of time I really began to notice and feel the benefits of this water in my body.

One of the biggest things I noticed from drinking this alkaline water and still I am so glad to this very day, I had very bad acid reflux from the age of SIX, yes I know so young and boy oh boy did I suffer, and three days of drinking this alkaline water I no longer suffered with acid reflux and that is over seven years now!.
Also from my head injuries I still suffered with bad sleeping patterns, not any more now from drinking alkaline water my sleeping patterns have improved and I am keeping my body and brain constantly hydrated.

What is traumatic brain injury?
Traumatic brain injury, also called TBI, is sudden damage to the brain. It happens when the head hits something violently or is hit again and again, or when an object goes through the skull and into the brain. Causes include

  • Falls
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • Violence, such as gunshot wounds, child abuse, or beatings
  • Injuries from sports or during combat

Dehydration leads to changes in the volume of compartments within the cranium that could put men and women at risk of brain damage after head injuries, according to a team of UK researchers.
Another important key piece of information I would like to share with you, and going back to my TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury).
brain-injury-causes-anger
Depression
I would like to say I never had this illness until after my accident, and all people both young and old who suffer with head trauma unfortunately can suffer with depression. I call it a silent illness as you may look fine on the outside but there is something else no one can see which is eating you up on the inside. I have spoken with groups and worked with Clients both young and old going through Depression. Another mental health concern which is also becoming common is Anxiety.

Most people do not know that Depression is a common problem after TBI. About half of all people with TBI are affected by depression within the first year after injury. Even more (nearly two-thirds) are affected within seven years after injury. In the general population, the rate of depression is much lower, affecting fewer than one person in 10 over a one-year period. More than half of the people with TBI who are depressed also have significant anxiety.

It is so important for people suffering with depression not to be afraid to go to someone, an either a close family member or friend. I know from a personal point of view that you can’t beat depression through sheer willpower, but you do have some control—even if your depression is severe and stubbornly persistent. The key to depression recovery is to start with a few small goals and slowly build from there. Feeling better takes time, but you can get there if you make positive choices for yourself each day and draw on the support of others, and keep your body physically in the best working order you can, hydration is an important key here.

I have coached and applied healing work with clients of all ages dealing with depression over the years. I would encourage if you are feeling this way to reach out for support or help if you know of a family member or friend that may assist you. To anyone reading this knowing of family/friend suffering with depression  please be their light in the dark tunnel they are caught in. If you would like to contact me regarding this issue I would be more than happy to answer your questions.

It had taken me some time to overcome this but I knew there was light at the end of the tunnel as I had overcome so much before, I could not allow this to stop me. With some of the healing work I had done personally and changing and improving my nutrition  plus drinking alkaline water, I really started to notice that I was no longer slipping into a dark place which would happen so unexpectedly. One of the most important roles of water I learned is to keep your brain and body hydrated consistently.

WholeBrain-450x253I will be posting more on your Holistic Health in future blogs and if there is anything you would like me to discuss, you are more than welcome to drop me an email. And again if you would like to contact me regarding Depression I would be more than happy to answer your questions.

Enjoy and please share if you like.

Is your relationship online or offline?

Our world is so overwhelmed with information, and we should be so grateful of the access we have to this amount of knowledge. Or are we sinking slowly like quicksand with the effect it is having within the relationships we have with ourselves’ and those around us?

Or is it helping us so much with the images portrayed online we all want to be just like that, we actually forget who we are and become led astray from our hearts desires and goals??

wall-e-11

It is better to spend time with people in person, and it is a gift that we can connect to friends and loved ones at distance through Skype etc. There are always moments we would Love them to be with us physically, instead of through a screen and it is times like this when we are grateful for technology.

jump1069_DeanV_Mood4

A primary nourishing food I remind my clients to try and find time away from their computer screen or iPhone when it has nothing to do with work, and for some people it is becoming a challenge to jump offline each day, or during the week and reconnect with family or friends you have been trying to connect with.
Meet for a coffee and a chat without taking pictures of coffees and find out what is happening in each others lives which you cannot find on the social media! Or enjoy either a walk or go for a nice drive to somewhere different or a favourite location!

Just reconnect with life away from your online screen, connect back to you and your friends, this is such a valuable exercise for both our emotional and mental wellbeing. If your 9 to 5 job is online don’t you think it would be healthier to disconnect away from the screen and reconnect with YOU?

Physical Health
For your physical health you can join a gym or if you want to keep costs down you could join up with some friends and start a walking night each evening, or so many times a week at a certain time. I know of many friends and neighbours who do this and it’s a great way to get a lot off you chest when walking with friends.
If you like swimming this is the perfect de-stressing exercise and its so relaxing on your muscles. I am sure in your area there maybe aqua aerobic classes which are great fun,  when I did personal training the men and women who attended the aqua aerobic classes loved it because it was so much fun and a lot of friendships were made.

Quiet Time
Or you can do at least 15 minutes of meditation, if you find meditation difficult you can go to a park or somewhere that is peaceful, (a couple of my clients would retreat into the bathroom, their sacred space of peace!)  find your sacred area of peace, quiten your mind for that moment of time of peace within yourself, and listen to your breathing if your mind is still chattering away, most of all enjoy it. I will do a segment about meditation in my future blogs which will continue on this theme.

Take a little time off-line and reconnect with the living world which can be filled with fun and spontaneity each day!

I would love to hear of the ways you find to relax off-line let me know in the comments.
I will be posting more on your Holistic Health in future blogs and if there is anything you would like me to discuss, you are more than welcome to drop me an email.

Enjoy and please share if you like.

SLEEPING CUTS THE RISKS OF………

AnOddPlaceToSleep_-_Peanuts_2_3364

Good sleep is the cornerstone of great health. 7-8 hours is the optimal amount of sleep for most adults, getting too little or even too much sleep can effect your health in a negative way!

Sleep deprivation has become so common that many people may not even realize they are suffering from it.  Some of the serious problems that a sleep deficit can cause include:

  • A weakened immune system
  • Poor memory
  • Poor concentration and mental performance
  • Poor physical performance
  • Stress related disorders such as heart disease, ulcers, and depression
  • Reduced growth hormone produced (accelerating the aging process)
  • Hunger and weight gain

We are all designed the same way and just like a car or any form of transportation which uses an engine to run which needs fuel to keep it working, as human beings our creator gave us sleep to renew and recharge our bodies.

Life as we know it and its pace keeps picking up speed, yet the confusing thing is the more products we create to make our lives easier, iPhones, laptops, online shopping, fast food, faster transport….the less time we actually have to do things!! Yet we seem to be cutting ourselves short on one of the most important things we need, Sleep, this is what makes our bodies better to cope with things physically, mentally and emotionally and where a lot of people who cut their sleeping time short its actually effecting their nutrition intake, which in turn has a ripple effect to a faster burnout regarding their health.

I saw in todays paper headlines, “Sleep cuts Risks of Diabetes” ~  Just an extra 30 minutes helps. (Daily Express) http://www.express.co.uk/life-style/health/564218/Sleeping-cuts-risk-diabetes-30-minutes-extra-helps-new-study
I agree with what they are saying to a point, as people who suffer from “Sleep Debt” are 72% more likely to be obese and suffer with weight related problems such as Type 2 Diabetes.

So try and stop living against your body clock, as a constant lack of sleep actually can speed up your Ageing process!! Start organising your day and note a time you are ready to commit in switching off and getting at least 7-8 hours sleep each night. I know I do and it was a challenge but your body will thank you in so many ways. Also another important note keep your body hydrated drink at least a large glass of water before you go to bed as sometimes if your body becomes dehydrated during the night you will wake up, so hydration is important so you don’t wake up out of a very comfortable sleep.

Moving Forward

IMG_7123

The new year is well on board and how are all the resolutions you promised to yourself?? Did they last, or by the end of the week, day or even the very moment you thought of it you gave up all hope?

Every day is  a New Day and a new opportunity to start again, sometimes we need that little bit of extra support to push us out of our “Comfort Zones”. Start with your dreams you may have never shared them with anyone, but only you can manifest these dreams into your life nobody else, this I learnt from my horrific accident and having to rebuild my life all over again. Believe me everything is POSSIBLE if you really want it.

Unfortunately, most people avoid discomfort. Most people at the first sign of discomfort, run as fast as possible in the opposite direction; they try to escape through spending money, taking pills, eating unhealthy foods, using sex, or some other form of toxic therapy. And this becomes their comfort therapy, really what is happening is the world around them is changing rapidly and yet they are stuck in the same ole spot just surrounded by their blanket of comforts. Thinking all is ok now but inside themselves they are truly uncomfortable and their diets maybe filled with processed foods and sugary sweets and treats, and salty foods and as a result they are creating a lifestyle which is both very unhealthy to their mind, physical body and their creativeness.

happy-sad

Crazy as it may sound I actually learned my own spiritual practice with a lot of discomfort on my bed in hospital, and I was even in more discomfort when I was in rehab, I became a  Master of my own Discomfort, I began with trying to remember my Dreams and I used this as my gateway of goals, honestly they seemed so unachievable as I did share them with one or two people and because of my injuries I got the accepting nod but I knew in my heart that they didn’t believe me! My dreams were as far out as the lighthouse, so that fanned the flame within me not just to show them but ME, I knew I could do this, no matter how wild my dreams were I knew I could do it! The ONE thing a lot of people forget when they think of dreams, attached to that is one very important word a lot of people  forget it is WORK, this is the most important factor in achieving your goals and your new years resolutions, you have to WORK on them to achieve greater things in your life and the best feeling when you do reach your goals is YOU DID IT!!!

It is the most self satisfying feeling which builds your confidence and your dreams grow and become manifest with you as you work towards them each day. That is all it takes just start in small doses at first, as this is something you are not used to doing, so block out a short amount of time each day say a few minutes and take action and start. You can go out and shop for fresh healthier foods and some you have never tried before, learn a new language, start decluttering in your home, volunteer in the community to meet new people in case you have a fear of communicating with others, go swimming there are so many things to do. I am sure what I have said can be really uncomfortable for some people, as I found this with some of my clients I have counselled/coached over the years. On my next Blog I will be guiding you on starting off again and Moving Forward with your life in the best way possible you will feel for yourself. If you have any questions or enquiries move out of your discomfort and email me. Have a wonderful weekend.

How To Avoid The New Year Hangover!

HOW TO AVOID THE NEW YEAR HANGOVER!

IMG_6774

Yes it is coming to that big celebration we all look forward to the ending of 2014 and the beginning of 2015. It has been known that we do have a pretty unhealthy relationship with alcohol. We do try to start off in moderation and yet tend to push the boat out a little too far, and really do you want to start off your New Year wishing you hadn’t drank so much the night before, with your head stuck to the pillow the next morning to sore to lift and for some the thoughts of food or any substance makes you recoil!

Hormones and Alcohol

Women and men are different when it comes to drinking as women have less body water than men, example if a woman of say 70kg drinks a unit of alcohol a man can drink one-third more to match blood alcohol levels. It is advised that women drink no more than 2 to 3 units per day and men no more than 3 to 4 units! So even in saying that you can see where we actually put so much stress on our bodies especially our liver as the majority of us in celebrations seem to hit more than the recommended alcohol unit limit. I do advise to drink water in between drinks to keep your body hydrated.

The famous Hangover, which I am sure most of you reading this have experienced as I have too in the past, than God (painful memories!). Hangovers are caused by ethanol a chemical in alcohol, which makes you urinate more in turn leads to Dehydration. Our usual suspects of a hangover; Headache, dry mouth, and nausea. Most of all alcohol is a hormone disruptor as it put so much pressure on your liver which is responsible for eliminating excessive waste from our bodies, and especially with just getting over the christmas celebrations and its rich foods and drinks we indulge in, our bodies are really doing double the work of breaking down and eliminating wastes as best it can under the pressure. So if the liver is busy dealing with breaking down alcohol it can be unable to fulfil the important role of ridding the body of waste hormones!

How To Prepare Yourself For New Years Celebrationscelebration

How to prepare yourself so you don’t have the heavy head and ill stomach on the first day of the new year.

  • Never drink on an empty stomach, as the liver can process alcohol much easier when you have eaten
  • Don’t drink if you are on medication
  • Drink plenty of water, even between drinks, most of all a pint before you go to sleep, as it can help the body to re-hydrate
  • Don’t mix drinks = suffering
  • Don’t binge drink or drink to forget!
  • Sadly today it’s best advised to watch your drink at all times, so your drink will not be tampered with.
  • If there is a history of heart problems in your family, alcohol causes narrowing of the arteries, so please reduce your intake of alcohol
  • If you are planning or are trying to loose weight cut out alcohol as it encourages fat to accumulate around the middle!
  • Drink lemon and hot water in the morning after drinking and a bloody good breakfast!
  • Drink to celebrate and most of all enjoy yourself.
  • If you need a new years monthly detox check out my Personal Health Coaching Programs, “ The Ultimate New You Detox”.

I wish you all a wonderful New Year and let this New Year be the one where all your dreams come true, so with a joyful heart, put a start to this year anew. Wishing all my readers a happy, healthy and prosperous 2015!stk20343wneBlissful Wishes

superfoods-logo

Superfood’s get their name because they provide a huge amount of beneficial nutrients to our body.

Sometimes they can be a little expensive so here is the continuation of our list, the remaining 5 out of 10 affordable superfood’s that you can incorporate into your lifestyle to give you great health benefits as we have seen in part one of this blog.

avocado-recipes

6. Avocado’s ~ This is a very nutritional fruit both internally and also externally! Avocados are very high in essential vitamins and minerals, including Fiber, Vitamins A, B5, B6, Vitamin C , potassium and Vitamin E which can help against excessive blood clotting. Avocados are low in sodium and Fructose. Also they are a rich source of oleic acid which is a powerful anti oxidant, and has been noted upon  lowering cholesterol. Regarding weight control, Its monounsaturated fat speeds up the metabolic rate, as compared with saturated fat. Its high fat content gives a quicker feeling of fullness, thus helping to reduce overeating. Its high fat content makes an overall sound diet more palatable, reducing the temptation to binge on foods high in sugars or saturated fats. Its rich supply of vitamins and minerals also makes the diet more wholesome and satisfying and thus more conducive to overall health and to moderation in consumption.

brussels-sprouts17. Brussel Sprouts ~An important anti-inflammatory nutrient found in Brussels sprouts is vitamin K. Vitamin K is a direct regulator of inflammatory responses, and we need optimal intake of this vitamin in order to avoid chronic, excessive inflammation and helps regulate blood clotting, and may help the body against osteoporosis, and inflammatory diseases. You can count on Brussels sprouts for cardiovascular support involves their cholesterol-lowering ability. The fiber content of Brussels sprouts, a cupful makes this vegetable a natural choice for digestive system support. You’re going to get half of your Daily Value for fiber from only 200 calories’ worth of Brussels sprouts. Yet the fiber content of Brussels sprouts is only one of their digestive support mechanisms. The brussels sprout is a little edible power ball in health protection against our risk of inflammation conditions such as: inflammatory bowel disease, IBS, ulcerative colitis and type 2 diabetes.

FALW88FH9G12L31.LARGE8. Carrots ~ Besides Bugs Bunny’s favourite nibble carrots are actually a very powerful vegetable alone and taste great. There are many ways of using carrots, both of my favourite’s are juicing and eating them raw with a selection of tasty dips! The bright colour orange in carrots is due to the presence of beta carotene, this is a source of Vitamin A, which is a vital nutrient for skin health. They are also a great anti-inflammatory and has been shown to be incredibly protective to the cardiovascular system. Carrots are great at strengthening the immune system. They detoxify, and assist bowel movement and eliminate constipation, (note to have some over the christmas period!)
Carrots prevent high blood pressure, heart attacks, strengthens the lungs, prevents liver, kidney and pancreas disease.Lessens the menstrual cycle. Good for your eyesight.

curly-kale9. Kale ~ Ok this is one of my favourites and when I was small it was always Halloween time I so looked forward in getting this funny looking cabbage! Yes times have changed, if you have not tried Kale yet now is the time. This is a superfood and in very, very close competition with spinach, yes the gloves are out between them, Kale is also one of the healthiest foods to consume, as a dark leafy green just like spinach they are both important for hair, skin, bone health and they provide iron, protein, vitamins and minerals. The possible health benefits of consuming kale include improving blood glucose control in diabetics, lowering the risk of cancer, lowering blood pressure, improving bone health, lowering the risk of developing asthma and more. Kale has got great health benefits and like most of the superfoods there is many ways of eating or drinking/juicing them.

chocolate-love

10. Dark Chocolate ~ Last but most definitely not the least my most, most, most FAVOURITE Dark Chocolate, yes I’m a Chocoholic!! Cacao ~ raw chocolate has over 1,500 Active chemicals which gives us the best impact on our health. It is a great anti oxidant and the next piece you will so understand, cacao has amazing benefits regarding our heart health, it is loaded with a vital mineral Magnesium. This works at regulating our heart rhythm, ( ladies can you now understand the meaning, the LOVE for chocolate…..right from our hearts!) and this vital mineral works with maintaining healthy blood pressure.

But of course, this doesn’t mean people should go all out and consume lots of chocolate every day. It is still loaded with calories and easy to overeat on. Maybe have a square or two after dinner and try to really savor them. Be aware that a lot of the chocolate on the market is low-grade. You need to choose quality stuff… organic, dark chocolate with 70% or higher cocoa content.Dark chocolates often contains some sugar, but the amounts are usually small and the darker the chocolate, the less sugar it will contain. There is also a selection of dark chocolates with savoury and fruity additions, by all means please enjoy!dark-chocolate-300x300

It also keeps vampires away which is always a good thing. Just making these small changes in your diet can exhibit significant changes, especially if coupled with other healthy changes. I will be adding another 5 more Superfood’s for your body on my next Blog post. I look forward catching up with you then. Garlic Soup The Best Antibiotic For the Winter Months

This soup, made from 50 garlic cloves, 1 red onion, and some thyme, is capable of fighting off many flu viruses, colds, and even the Norovirus.

The pharmaceutical and health care industries have massively over-prescribed antibiotics, which has lessened their effectiveness and even created antibiotic resistant diseases. With that being said, more and more people are rapidly turning back to nature to find remedies for their health problems. The winter Norovirus, also know as the winter vomiting bug, got a lot of attention in early 2014. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps, and headaches.

The interesting thing about garlic, is that new and mutated viruses/infections, which cannot be treated with traditional antibiotics, are still effected by the garlic. The reason behind garlic’s amazing antibiotic properties is a chemical called allicin, found within the cloves. A study preformed by Washington University has shown that garlic is 100 times more effective than 2 most popular antibiotics on the market.

Ingredients
50 cloves of organic garlic (5 garlic bulbs) cleaned and peeled
2 tablespoons of olive oil
2 tablespoons of butter
2 large bulbs of red onion, diced
1 tablespoon fresh cut thyme
6 cups (250ml) of chicken broth
fresh or dried herbs for taste (parsley, bay leaves, whatever you prefer!)
3 cups of stale bread, cubed or crushed
1 cup of sour cream

Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). While the oven warms up, chop off the heads of the garlic bulbs, spread the cloves out on some foil, drizzle in olive oil, and wrap them in the foil. Place the foil wrapped garlic in a pan, and place them in the oven to cook for about 90 minutes. Give them some time to cool once they’re done. Next, mix 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a soup pot, over medium heat. Place the diced red onion in the mixture, cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.

Now that the garlic has cooled down, grind it, and mix it together with the stewed red onion. Mix well, add the fresh thyme and other herbs. Lower the temperature and mix in the bread crumbs/cubes. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the bread softens. Remove the fresh herbs from the mixture and place in a blender or food processor until it becomes a semi-creamy mixture. Place the soup back into the pot, add in the sour cream, and feel free to add salt or pepper according to your taste preferences! Enjoy!
